Position: General Machine Operator
Location: Garvey Corporation – Blue Anchor, NJ
Position Overview: Produce quality parts based on the operation that is being completed at that stage of the manufacturing process. Set up, run, and maintain machines. Expect to be trained on multiple machines in order to help production based on the constraint at that point in time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Operate, set up, and maintain various machinery including but not limited to Deburring Machines, Automated Band Saws, Drill Press, as well as various hand tools and hand operated tools.
  • Account for time worked via computer system.
  • Practice safe work habits.
  • Conduct routine inspections on equipment to ensure proper working order.
  • Communicate effectively and properly with coworkers and management.
  • Complete tasks in a timely fashion.
Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities:
  • Ability to understand and read blueprints.
  • Must be detail oriented and mechanically inclined.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and PPE.
  • Understand general arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
Required Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing and/or operating machinery.
